LASER Safety and Program Development Course

The LASER Safety and Program Development course is an online training course in the design and maintenance  of an effective LASER Safety Program specific to the LASER hazards within each workplace.

Topics include:

  • LASER energy generation
  • organs at risk and the potential consequences of accidental exposure
  • LASER hazard classifications
  • hazards incidental to LASER generation are addressed
  • elements of an effective LASER safety program

Participants will be encouraged to begin the steps of designing a safety program specific to the needs of their workplace.  RMS will review the policies and procedures developed and these documents will become the operational standard in the worksites for which it was created.

Preparing for the Course:

Participants are encouraged to contact RMS with any documentation relating to the LASER equipment, LASER location, LASER enclosures, LASER interlocks, etc in their workplace in order to lay the groundwork for their programs.
